At Lil Campers we recognise that parents face many challenges in the current economic and social environment. We work together with our parents to find flexible solutions and arrangements which ensure children are able to benefit from the social and learning opportunities of early education in centers like Lil Campers Academy.

Here are some recent examples (names changed to protect identities):

When Susie lost her job, she had no idea how she was going to find a new job and she told us she would have to withdraw the children from child care. Our Director made inquiries and discovered she was entitled to 2 months CDS while she searched for a new job. We waived the parent contribution aspect of the fees to support her at this challenging time.

Dave was struggling with the challenges of caring for his chronically sick wife, aging mother and 3 children. When his benefits ran out he was distressed as to how he could cope with working and taking care of all his family. Our Director helped him to investigate his options and again we were able to sponsor the youngest child’s continued attendance for a period.

LiL Campers Academy Owner - Lynne Peyton M.S Sc.

Lil Campers Academy’s owner is an internationally recognised expert in child care and children’s services. Lynne Peyton has more than 30 years experience of developing, managing and quality assuring the entire range of children’s services. Based mainly in the United Kingdom, Lynne has had an impressive career, working to improve services for children and the supports available to families in both the statutory and not for profit sectors.

Lynne has extensive experience and a real understanding of the important role of top quality child care in the development of happy, emotionally healthy and well adjusted children. Research indicates that children who participate in high quality early education demonstrate long term benefits, including graduating from High School and attaining higher levels of education, maintaining long term employment, higher earnings and owning their own homes. Those nations which commit to early years programmes such as the Voluntary Pre–Kindergarten, provided at Lil Campers Academy, also experienced lower overall crime rates and higher levels of community safety.

As well as overseeing the registration and inspection of day care centers, pre-school facilities and home based childminders in her area, Lynne also had a key role in the strategic development and expansion of quality child care services throughout Ireland. She has chaired multi-agency partnerships and contributed to national steering committees as well as co–leading creative initiatives designed to address the challenges of providing child care services in more isolated rural communities.

Our Director Robyn Beacham

LIL campers Academy director Robyn Beacham has extensive experience in working with young children and has been in the child care field for more than 13 years. Robyn has worked in a variety of settings and has progressed from being a great teacher to a highly successful manager. She has been in management positions for 3 years and her Director's Credential is VPK endorsed. Robyn has 2 boys of her own , aged 10 and 12 and a very supportive husband. What makes her a great mother and Director is her sense of fun and genuine love for children.

'My commitment to the Center is to fulfil the lives of all the staff, children and families who make up our community. My goal is to have Lil Campers Academy operating at full capacity with the best certified and qualified staff possible within Pasco County. Most of all I want all of our children to have a safe fun educational experience during their formative years and to grow in confidence and self esteem'.

Every parent wants what's best for their children and needs to be confident that their chosen child care provider is able to respond to each child as a precious and unique individual. We want our parents to feel welcome and involved in the center. We want you to be comfortable with asking questions and sharing information about your child. That's why we have created opportunities for daily communication with staff and we provide 'infantgrams' and 'toddlergrams' for our younger children so you get great feedback on your child's day.

At Lil Campers Academy we know the many challenges facing families in the current economic circumstances. For many of you sending children to quality child care and early learning facilities is a real challenge. Yet all of the findings and feedback supports the benefits of offering your children these opportunities if only for a few hours each day. VPK - Ms Dawn

As a teacher with more than 15 years experience in the child care field, I have worked with and taught children of all ages from infants to 5th Grade. Two years ago I completed my Child Development Association (CDA) qualification and Voluntary Pre Kindergarten (VPK) credentials. I have always enjoyed helping and watching children learn, grow and aquire life long skills.

Infants - Ms Felicia

I have been an infant teacher for almost 3 years and I adore working with the babies. Every day brings something new. It has been such a privilege watching the babies in my room grow and develop. I have my 40 hours early childhood training, First Aid and CPR. I have completed my Child Development Association classes and look forward to obtaining the full qualification in early 2012. I am also taking classes in psychology. Working closely with our parents is really important and each day we share all the news about the babies in our care.

Toddlers - Ms Felisha

I've been working at Lil Campers for nearly a year. I enjoy working with the toddlers who range from 12 to 24 months and are becoming more mobile and able to communicate. I enjoy teaching them sign language encouraging their gross motor skills and watching them discover new experiences. I look forward to coming to work every day to see their happy smiling faces. I have just completed my 40 hours early childhood training and will be signing up for CDA in the Spring.

Infants/Toddlers - Ms Ashlee

With over 8 years experience in working with young children I am happy working with any age group and particularly love working with the babies and toddlers because everyday I watch them learn new skills and see their indivdual characters develop. I have completed the 40 hours early childhood training and look forward to completing the CDA.

Twos - Ms Crystal

I have been working in the child care field for 9 years and moved to Lil Campers to work with our Director Ms Robyn who was in charge at my previous center. I love working with the two year olds as they are so interesting and curious. This is an important age group for working in partnership with parents to ensure a joint approach to toilet training and to responding to behavioural challenges. I have almost completed my CDA training and look forward to being fully qualified in the Spring.

Twos - Ms Brandy

I am relatively new to the child care field and I'm loving every minute of it. I get to watch the children in my class grow and learn new things every day. I feel so privileged to be working at Lil Campers and enjoy great support from my colleaguese. Sometime I think I am learning as much as the children. I have signed up for the 40 hours...

Threes - Ms April

After 10 years in the child care field, I can't imagine doing anything else. Much of my experience has been with younger children so working with the three year olds is really exciting. They are able to work independently for short periods and it is so rewarding to watch them grow and reach new milestones. This year I look forward to completing my CDA qualification.
